Here's a take (not Josh Marshall) on Biden, Sanders, Warren, Bloomberg, etc. over at TPM. I don't agree with it all but it's a worthwhile read.

Quote

Barring a personal tragedy, Joe Biden will be the nominee. My preference, given the difficulty of holding primaries during the pandemic and the need to focus on defeating Donald Trump in November, is for Sanders to concede – and I voted for him in 2016 and would have done so again. If Sanders continues to campaign, it should only be around his issues. No attacks on Biden for stands he took 10, 20, or even 30 years ago. I can think of no worse (possible) fate for the country than Trump’s re-election. Here are some final thoughts about the primaries and what comes next:

Sanders is apparently "assessing" his campaign. On the upside it sounds like he's going to spend the next few weeks doing something good rather than ripping at Biden.

Quote

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is assessing his campaign after former Vice President Joe Biden swept all three primaries Tuesday night.

On Tuesday night, it didn’t take long after polls closed for networks to project Biden as the winner in Florida and Illinois. Arizona was still too early to call at the end of Tuesday night, but the former VP was projected to win the state’s Democratic primary the next morning. Although Ohio was originally scheduled to hold its primaries Tuesday, the state postponed its in-person contest to June 2 in light of the COVID-19 outbreak.

In a statement shared with TPM, Sanders campaign manager Faiz Shakir said that the Vermont senator will have “conversations with supporters to assess his campaign.”

Acknowledging that the next primaries are at least three weeks away, Shakir also mentioned in the statement that Sanders will focus his attention on the government’s response to the coronavirus outbreak and taking care of working people as well as “the most vulnerable.”

DINO Rep. Dan Lapinski (R-IL) lost his primary. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

Quote

Marie Newman, the progressive candidate in Illinois’ Democratic primary, beat incumbent conservative Democrat Rep. Dan Lipinski (D-IL) during the state’s elections on Tuesday night.

“I am bursting with pride and gratitude for the amazing coalition that helped bring about much needed change in our district,” Newman said in a statement. “We are going to work together to lower health care costs, to fight climate change, and to build an economy that works for everyone.”

She will face off against GOP candidate Mike Fricilone in November. But with Lipinski’s seat secured in Illinois’ reliably blue 3rd congressional district, Newman’s victory on Tuesday almost certainly guarantees that she will be the district’s new representative come 2021.

Lipinski, who has been in office since 2005, often bucked his party’s left-leaning stances, having voted against abortion rights, the Affordable Care Act and LGBTQ rights. He also declined to endorse President Barack Obama in the 2012 election.

But despite the Illinois congressman’s conservative record, the Democratic establishment has thrown its support behind him.

My prediction: As soon as someone figures out to publicize the fact that Sanders staying in is a huge distraction that could even cost lives if it leads to in-person primary voting, he'll bow out.

He has no chance to win and we can't afford his side-show bullshit for the next three months.

Sanders is said to have cancelled all FB ads. And that he's "assessing" his campaign. I think he'll likely withdraw, but he wants as much attention as possible before he does.

I have heard some express concerns about Biden's mental fitness, calling him senile, but in actuality he has fought a life-long stuttering problem. https://www.theatlan...profile/602401/ Nothing like having a nun shame shame you in front of your 7th grade class to build confidence in working to overcome a speech impediment.

Hopefully Biden will win, and surround himself with better people. And if he were to get into trouble, I'm sure he could ask Mr. Kushner for help.

Trump to Mike Pence: 'Don't call the woman in Michigan,' aka Gov. Gretchen Whitmer

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump said Friday he has asked Vice President Mike Pence not to call governors he says have not been "appreciative" enough of his efforts on coronavirus – a group of critics that included a governor he referred to only by gender,
"Don't call the woman in Michigan," Trump said at a press conference while discussing Pence's work as head of the White House Coronavirus Task Force.
That governor – Gretchen Whitmer – replied on Twitter that "right now, we all need to be focused on fighting the virus, not each other."
"I’m willing to work with anyone as long as we get the personal protective equipment we need for the people of Michigan," she said.
Harsh words:President Trump slams Gov. Whitmer as he weighs disaster request for Michigan

Trump told reporters that most – but not all – governors have been appreciative of his administration's response to the coronavirus pandemic.
"I want them to be appreciative," he said. "I don't want them to say things that aren't true."
Asked which governors he was referring to, Trump slammed Washington Gov. Jay Inslee, calling him “a failed presidential candidate.”
Whitmer, he said, “has no idea what’s going on, and all she does is say it’s the federal government’s fault."
It's not the first time Trump and Whitmer have clashed over the federal government's coronavirus response.
Earlier this month, Trump attacked Whitmer in a tweet after she told MSNBC that “the federal government did not take this seriously early enough."

The 2020 United States presidential election in Michigan is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, as part of the 2020 United States presidential election in which all 50 states plus the District of Columbia will participate.[1] Michigan voters will choose electors to represent them in the Electoral College via a popular vote. The state of Michigan has 16 electoral votes in the Electoral College.[2]

Michigan is expected to be tightly contested in 2020, as it was the closest state by margin in the 2016 election, where President Trump became the first Republican to carry Michigan’s electoral votes since 1988, when George H.W. Bush won in a national landslide against Michael Dukakis.

The race remains a nine-point advantage for Biden over Trump when looking only at those voters extremely interested in the election (52-43 percent) and the former vice president has an eight-point edge in battleground states (48-40 percent).

However, Biden’s advantage grows to 25 points, 57-32 percent, in close counties (where Hillary Clinton and Trump were within 10 points in 2016).

A Biden-Warren ticket bests Trump-Pence by 10 points and is the only ticket tested that puts the Democrats over the 50 percent threshold, 52-42 percent.

I'd say "Waste of a great Senator" but given Biden's actuarial profile ...
