I just saw these two headlines in New York Mag:

Putin Says Jews Might Be to Blame for 2016 Election Hacking

Bannon Tells France’s National Front: ‘Let Them Call You Racist’

Are we humans in a never ending cycle where we learn nothing from the past? Is there no social evolution ever?

It’s simply a way for us to remember the good old days, when “they” knew their place.

Basically, (ETA: the followers of) people like this are dangerous in their stupidity. Unfortunately, complacency has brought them out of the rotten stump they belong in.
Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.

I'd say people like this are dangerous in their cunning and manipulation. Neither Bannon nor Putin are stupid. They do leverage the stupid portions of the human race, or course, but neither man is stupid in the slightest.
Well, fuck.

How can I be expected to distinguish BS from reality when so much of my reality is utter BS?!

You are correct I should have said "their followers are stupid" to believe that garbage. Look at Alex (Kids on Mars) Jones' fan base.

Although that portion of stupid voters was how much?
To think all those people voted for Trump is frightening!
So much ignorance and hatred.Look on the people behind
Trump and weep.

Evolution generally works by killing off people behind the curve.

So, how to apply that to our present circumstances?

Are these people though behind the curve?
Are they not the Ruling Class electing Trump?

I would define "ruling class" as those people whose primary desired benefit from the government is more favorable treatment of capital gains and stock options in the tax code.

I don't think that categorization includes most of Trump's supporters.

Once enough deregulation combined with climate change kicks in, most of them will die off.

So will most of the rest of us; you didn’t think our hair would go unmussed, did you?

That's something people should remember. When the people they dislike go down on a large scale; it affects everyone, not just the disliked ones.

Baw
Appreciate your "bite" is there a difference between Bell's Curve
and just Curve? In my day in Europe the Ruling party was the Party
elected by Adolf or Trump. No one knew much about the ..actual
Stock Market or anything else . But elect they did!
