Netanyahu may be getting lined up to be charged for a series of criminal acts. He's running his own brand of kleptocracy. Is it any wonder Trump loves him? If charges are filed the countdown to cries of anti-semitism from Bibi's backers will start in a matter of seconds.

sraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has lashed out at police over claims detectives probing graft allegations against him were targeted by private investigators as the probe reportedly nears completion.

Pressure has built on Netanyahu with police investigating him reportedly set to hand over their recommendations to the attorney general next week in the long-running probe.

Israeli media have reported that police are expected to recommend that the long-serving prime minister be indicted for bribery, fraud and breach of public trust.

They'll probably try on the "self-hating Jew" thing: self-hating Jews in the Israeli police is a big problem, or some such bollocks.

Israeli police recommend that charges be pressed. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Quote

Israeli police on Tuesday recommended that Benjamin Netanyahu be indicted in a pair of corruption cases, media reported, in an embarrassing blow to the embattled prime minister that is likely to fuel calls for him to step down.

The recommendations marked a dramatic ending to a months-long investigation into allegations that Netanyahu accepted tens of thousands of dollars in lavish gifts from a Hollywood mogul and offered to give preferential treatment to a newspaper publisher in exchange for favorable coverage. Netanyahu has repeatedly denied wrongdoing.

The recommendations now go to Attorney General Avihai Mendelblit, who will review the material before deciding whether to file charges. Netanyahu can remain in office during that process, which could drag on for months.

But with a cloud hanging over his head, he could soon find himself facing calls to step aside. During similar circumstances a decade ago, Netanyahu, as opposition leader, urged then-Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to resign during a police investigation, saying a leader “sunk up to his neck in interrogations” could not govern properly.

For months, police have been investigating two cases.

In one probe, called File 1000, Netanyahu reportedly received over $100,000 in gifts including champagne and expensive cigars from Hollywood mogul Arnon Milchan, Australian billionaire James Packer and other wealthy supporters.

The other is over secret talks with the publisher of Israeli daily Yediot Ahronot. In recordings obtained by police, Netanyahu allegedly requested positive coverage in exchange for reining in a free pro-Netanyahu daily.

I find Netanyahu really, really scary when he does pieces to camera. Just as I did John Bolton when he was Ambassador to the UN. Saying utterly horrible stuff in measured, reasonable tones.

Bibi isn't alone.

Israeli police revealed Tuesday that two close associates of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu were among the suspects in a new corruption probe, with five others central figures in the Bezeq telecommunications group.

The seven were arrested on Sunday, just days after police said there were grounds to indict Netanyahu for bribery, fraud and breach of public trust, in the biggest challenge yet to the right-wing premier’s long tenure in power.

Those arrested included Nir Hefetz, a former personal spokesman for Netanyahu’s family, and Shlomo Filber, a Netanyahu confidant appointed as director of the communications ministry by the premier.

Others included Shaul Elovitch, the controlling shareholder of Bezeq, members of Elovitch’s family and senior Bezeq executives.

Police suspect that Bezeq’s controlling shareholder Shaul Elovitch was granted business concessions in return for Netanyahu receiving positive coverage on Elovitch’s news website Walla.

“As part of the investigation, suspicions accumulated on felonies concerning ethics, fraud, money laundering and securities violations, conducted over extended periods of time, frequently and systematically as part of relationships between Bezeq executives and public servants and their associates,” police said on Tuesday.

It smells like he and Trump are more like two stinking peas in a corrupt, rancid pod than I realized. And Mueller is maneuvering for the same outcome.

One of Benjamin Netayahu’s closest aides has reached a dramatic deal to help implicate the Israeli prime minister in corruption charges, according to local media. Haaretz reported that Shlomo Filber, the former director of the communications ministry under Netanyahu, reached a deal to testify after he was arrested as part of a police investigation into government ties with telecommunications company Bezeq. Filber is reportedly suspected of having given financial benefits to the largest shareholder of Bezeq, on behalf on Netanyahu, in return for positive news coverage on a website that he also owned. Filber, who will reportedly avoid jail time, has now promised to to tell police everything he knows about Netanyahu’s involvement in the case—which would make him the first member of the prime minister’s inner circle to break rank. Netanyahu has repeatedly denied any allegations of wrongdoing against him but Aluf Benn, the editor in chief of Haaretz, said: “These are the final days of Benjamin Netanyahu’s rule.”

Dumpster will probably go on a Tweet-fit when he learns that he can't pardon Netanyahu. He was already confused about the sovereignty status of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

With his savior mindset, he's already though of himself as King of the Jews. So doesn't that mean he rules Israel?

Things keep looking worse for Netanyahu.

Quote

Benjamin Netanyahu’s “spin doctor” has agreed to cooperate with prosecutors and turn over reported recordings of the Israeli prime minister and his wife to police investigating alleged corruption, Haaretz reports. Nir Hefetz will also testify against the PM and his wife as part of a deal in which he will “not stand trial, face prison time, or be fined” for suspicions that he accepted bribes. Hefetz is the third of Netanyahu’s advisers to turn against him amid the corruption investigation, after former Chief of Staff Ari Harow and former communications minister Sholmo Filber. The cases against Netanyahu involve alleged quid-pro-quo deals with a newspaper publisher, accepting lavish gifts from a businessman, and giving “millions of shekels” in breaks to a telecom company. On Monday, Netanyahu is meeting with President Donald Trump in Washington, D.C. and is expected to attend the annual AIPAC conference.

Meanwhile crooks of a feather meet again.

Quote

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu landed in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, planning for a Monday meeting with President Donald Trump and an address to AIPAC, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

Netanyahu and Trump, who are close allies, will be meeting for the fifth time in a year that has seen their administrations buffeted by uncanny parallel challenges. On Monday, Nir Hefetz, Netanyahu’s former chief of staff and a close personal friend of both Benjamin and Sara Netanyahu, signed a plea agreement and turned state’s witness against the prime minister.

Hefetz, who has just been released after two weeks under arrest, could have a devastating effect on Netanyahu in at least three criminal investigations which have named the prime minister as a criminal suspect.

Six former Israeli spymasters accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday of jeopardizing the country’s future

It looks like Netanyahu, in an effort to throw red meat to his rabid right-wing base (sound familiar?), may have shot himself in the foot. And a retired brigadier general who is Druze, not Jewish, may be leading a political wave directed right at him.

Quote

Both Netanyahu and Asad are long-time members of the right-wing Likud party that Netanyahu leads.

They could have been pals. “I’m no rebel. I’m not anti-Bibi,” says Asad.

But Asad, an Israeli through and through, is not Jewish. He is Druze. And when Netanyahu recently passed the “Nation-State Law,” a quasi-constitutional Basic Law that Netanyahu claims ensures “the national rights of the Jewish people in its land” but lacks mention of equal rights for all citizens, Asad felt compelled to act—with results that have shaken the Netanyahu government to its foundations.

On August 4, a Tel Aviv rally Asad organized in only two weeks drew around 150,000 people.

High Noon with Netanyahu, it appears, will come in mid-October, when the Israeli parliament opens its winter session and Asad promises to show up with “hundreds of thousands of Israelis making it clear we cannot be ignored.”

One step closer...

Quote

Israeli police on Sunday recommended indicting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on bribery charges, adding to a growing collection of legal troubles that have clouded the longtime leader’s prospects for pursuing re-election next year.

Netanyahu denied the latest allegations. But his fate now lies in the hands of his attorney general, who will decide in the coming months whether the prime minister should stand trial on a host of corruption allegations that could play a central role in next year’s election campaign.

Sunday’s decision followed a lengthy investigation into a case involving Netanyahu’s relationship with Shaul Elovitch, the controlling shareholder of Israel’s telecom giant Bezeq.

Police said they found sufficient evidence that confidants of Netanyahu promoted regulatory changes worth hundreds of millions of dollars to Bezeq. In exchange, they believe Netanyahu used his connections with Elovitch to receive positive press coverage on Bezeq’s popular news site Walla.

In a statement, police said the investigation concluded that Netanyahu and Elovitch engaged in a “bribe-based relationship.”

Israel's AG has said he will press charges. Bibi said it's a "witch hunt." Sound familiar to anybody? Anybody? Bueller?

Quote

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s long reign atop Israeli politics has earned him the nickname “King Bibi,” but a decision ahead of April elections to indict him on corruption charges may be his biggest challenge yet.

After Israel’s attorney general announced Thursday night he intended to charge the prime minister with bribery, fraud and breach of trust pending a hearing, Netanyahu showed characteristic defiance in a televised statement.

He blamed his political opponents for what he called a “witch hunt” intended to force him from office — though he appointed the attorney general who issued the decision.

In the 20-minute statement, a campaign banner reading “Netanyahu Strong Right” behind him, he called the investigations a “house of cards” meant to “influence the elections.”

If Bernie Saunders gets elected it will be interesting to see if he still speaks out against Israel. Knowing how well informed the US electorate is, Bernie will probably get most of the anti-Jewish vote too!

Netanyahu is pledging to annex a lot of the West Bank if he wins re-election. Sounds like a sure way to incite war if he does win.
