I don't want to think about that. Ever.

And Fox News defends Trump's remarks about "refugees from shithole countries" because "that's the way the forgotten men and women talk"

Uh, maybe they're being forgotten because of all the crap that comes out of their mouths?

Most immigrants to the US came from places that were having a lot of problems at the time. And the people who came from those places generally made a major contribution to the country.

So I interpret this as a combination of ignorance of history and racism.

As a child of Italian immigrants I have to take umbrage at this. When my dad came over it was 1915, and Germany conducting unrestricted sub warfare. Poverty in Southern Italy was horrendous. In fact, for Northern Italians, Southern Italy WAS a shithole country. (I may add it was still considered that until recently.)
I’m sure these nations will remember.
I can’t help thinking that when Pres Trump is gone, countries that he insulted will have spontaneous celebrations. Maybe even play Beetoven’s 3rd Symphony (Eroica) with a resurrected Leonard Bernstein conducting.

If you've got public schools paid for by taxpayers, you're in a socialist nation. If you have public roads paid for by taxpayers, socialist nation. If you've got public defense (police, fire, military, coast guard) paid for by tax dollars, socialist nation. If you're in a nation that has nationalized or localized delivery of services that are not paid for by users alone, you're in a socialist nation- the only question is how socialist. As I see it, we have the military pay to protecting the shipping lanes for our fuel needs which makes up very socialist. In a capitalist nation, the people supplying the oil would pay for their own defense force.

Even immigrants from the British isles generally came from the non-prosperous regions (Ireland during/after the famine, Cornwall and Wales after the mines started running out, Scotland when tenant farmers were being forced off their land).

It appears that the people believing this nonsense have forgotten even their own family's history!

A "serious journalist" gets to the bottom of the REAL problem with the reporting of Trump's "shitholes" comment; LEAKERS!

Quote

Appearing on Fox News’ Outnumbered, occasional host Rachel Campos-Duffy said she was unhappy with Donald Trump’s choice of words with Congressional leaders — calling foreign countries “sh*tholes” — but complained that the lawmakers who leaked the president’s comments were the real problem.

“He was talking about the countries being not so great,” Campos-Duffy explained to her co-hosts without uttering the word. “First of all, I don’t agree with this term. I’m glad Rep. Mia Love (R-UT) put that [written condemnation] out and I would too. Sometimes the best immigrants come from those kind of countries.”

“That said, I still have a problem with people in a private meeting going out and saying what the president said, when they know, like right now, I just heard that the Panamanian ambassador just quit over this,” the wife of Congressman Sean Duffy (R-WI) continued.

“I mean, it makes our country look bad,” she elaborated. “I think the Democrats, in this case, should have used some discretion. And even if he did say something like that, not repeat it for the benefit of the country.”

Hey, cupcake. Where were you for 4 years when Donald Trump told anybody who would listen that Obama's birth certificate was fake? Now why don't you go home, get comfy, and make yourself a big bowl of STFU.

Trump is desperate for as big a "LOOK! SQUIRREL!!!" moment as he can get and Faux News is trying their pathetic best to give it to him by airing a "documentary" on the Clinton impeachment. I can hardly wait to read some of the reviews.

Quote

ox News announced Tuesday a documentary series entitled “Scandalous” that will focus on the events leading up to former President Bill Clinton’s impeachment in the late 1990s, according to a press release. The announcement came at a time when current commander-in-chief Donald Trump has faced cries for his own impeachment trial.

Related: After Bill and Monica, Drudge Report Kept Up With The Scoops

In December 1998, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to impeach Clinton on charges of lying to a federal grand jury and obstruction of justice over his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Clinton, who was the second president in U.S. history to be impeached by the House, was later acquitted by the Senate, but the cast of characters and intrigue surrounding the scandal days enraptured the country.

Many of those characters were permanently ingrained in the minds of anyone who lived through that time, including Special Counsel Ken Starr and Linda Tripp—Lewinsky’s co-worker at the Pentagon who recorded Lewinsky's admission of the affair.

Starr and Tripp participated in the making of “Scandalous,” as did former members of Starr’s team, and ex-U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman and current Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.

I wonder if Starr discusses how his own hand-picked ethics adviser walked out on him because Starr had become an advocate for impeachment rather than an independent counsel. Or maybe ask his opinion about why the independent counsel law in place at the time was repealed after his "investigation". Yeah, I'm sure the answer to both is "no".

Faux News once again displays its selective journalistic "integrity". The kinds of fake news want to be really, really sure when it would embarrass Trump. Bold is mine.

Quote

After CNN reported that Fox News “killed” a story linking President Donald Trump to porn actress Stephanie Clifford during the 2016 election, the network pushed back on that characterization and said that the network was merely unable to verify the facts in the story.

“Like many other outlets, we were working to report the story of Stephanie Clifford’s account in October 2016 about then-Presidential candidate Donald Trump and a possible payment by Trump lawyer Michael Cohen. In doing our due diligence, we were unable to verify all of the facts and publish a story,” Noah Kotch, the editor-in chief of Fox News Digital, said in a statement.

Some at Faux News may be a witting or unwitting dupes of a foreign intelligence service. It would make sense.

Quote

Last month, AP reported that Russian intelligence agencies were pursuing journalists around the world in the same way they typically target politicians and government employees from hostile states.

Much of this activity, according to the report, was aimed at dissident journalists and bloggers who are perceived as threats to the Russian regime.

But Aki Peritz, a former CIA analyst and current adjunct professor at American University, believes that certain foreign spy agencies are very likely targeting one specific private institution: Fox News.

The reason is simple enough: The president of the United States watches Fox News — a lot — and therefore the channel has enormous influence on what he thinks, tweets, and does. As of last November, Trump had tweeted about the Fox News show Fox & Friends 88 times, according to the Washington Post’s Philip Bump.

I reached out to Peritz and asked him to lay out his case. A lightly edited transcript of our conversation follows.

So it turns out Trump is being unfairly fat-shamed because...he's a man!

http://www.foxnews.c...tators-say.html

Quote

Psychotherapist and author Jonathan Alpert pointed at a larger issue that is going on in America at the moment, pointing to a recent BuzzFeed article titled, “37 Things White People Need To Stop Ruining In 2018.” He said that many liberals feel it’s okay to make fun of white people, but using the same rhetoric about other groups wouldn’t be accepted.

“I think the fat-shaming is more evidence of that. You have people who are essentially making fun of the president’s weight... I think there is a double-standard, or maybe it’s a triple-standard because typically men aren’t fat shamed,” Alpert told Fox News. “So you have, not only a man being fat-shamed but you have a president being fat-shamed. I don’t think a female president would be fat-shamed.
