Faux is now lying about the Southern Poverty Law Center. Way to fly your racist colors, guys! Get out there and protect the bigots, a.k.a. your core audience. From the SPLC:

Quote

The SPLC is currently facing a coordinated attack by far-right extremist groups we’ve named as hate groups because they vilify the LGBT community, immigrants and Muslims. Their latest megaphone is none other than FOX News.

On the show The Five, the FOX pundits made the outrageous claims that we spend only $61,000 on legal work, that we, indeed, do "hardly any law," and that we're "laundering money.” Anyone remotely familiar with our work, including our tax returns and audited financial statements on our website, would know that these claims are false. You can read the full letter to FOX News demanding a correction below.

The group that is leading the attack is the Family Research Council (FRC), a group that routinely demonizes and spreads ugly lies about the LGBT community. The thing that makes it worse is that the FRC has a foothold in the mainstream, something that makes the group particularly dangerous.

We have no idea whether FOX has enough integrity to back down from its outrageous claims. But what we can promise you is that we won't back down in the face of attacks from groups like the FRC that would like to return to the days when gay people were in the closet and faced the risk of being jailed for being who they are.

In keeping with the Fox mantra of "accuracy is for wimps", this is what happens when you want to lick the boots (or whatever) of the person in the White House.
Added benefit to stories like this: you get to say the "librul" media wasn't interested. Until they find out you got conned. According to Navy Times it took Fox a bit of time to retract the story and pull it off their web site.

FAKER! Man admits he lied to Fox News about Navy SEAL service

Navy veteran John Garofalo appeared on a Fox News segment this month, showing off a massive presidential seal he carved for President Trump while receiving praise for his service in Vietnam as a SEAL.
The piece was broadcast nationally and featured cascading shots of all Garofalo’s medals. Online, it went viral, racking up 1.5 million Facebook views on Fox’s Facebook page.
“The Vietnam War veteran served seven years as a member of the nation’s first Navy SEAL team,” Fox News reporter Bryan Llenas said. “He was awarded 22 commendations, including two Purple Hearts.”

If you've got public schools paid for by taxpayers, you're in a socialist nation. If you have public roads paid for by taxpayers, socialist nation. If you've got public defense (police, fire, military, coast guard) paid for by tax dollars, socialist nation. If you're in a nation that has nationalized or localized delivery of services that are not paid for by users alone, you're in a socialist nation- the only question is how socialist. As I see it, we pay the military pay to protect the shipping lanes for our fuel needs which makes us very socialist. In a capitalist nation, the people supplying the oil would pay for their own defense force.

Oh no! Poor Faux! What to do with breaking news that the Russia investigation is taking down crooks? Cheeseburger emoji!

Quote

Fox News repeatedly interrupted its coverage of Paul Manafort’s indictment on Monday morning.

The news network decided to highlight a number of stories that didn’t revolve around President Donald Trump’s former campaign chief, including a story about a cheeseburger emoji.

“I googled it and it showed the cheese should be on top of the burger,” Fox and Friends host Steve Doocy complained.

From cable news networks to ABC, NBC and CBS morning shows, all reported on the indictment of Manafort and his former associate Rick Gates. Fox News, meanwhile, still maintains that the real Russia scandal involves Hillary Clinton.

Bruce Bartlett expresses his honest opinion about Faux News, especially Faux & Fiends, as well as Trump.

Quote

As the topic turned from what host Stelter and guest Carl Bernstein called the “Fox Effect” — using a cable news network as a propaganda tool — to Fox hosts in general, Bartlett singles out the hosts to Stelter’s dismay.

“One more example of this ‘Fox Effect,’ if I can call it that. Let me show you a brand new NBC/Washington Journal poll out this morning showing President Trump with a 38 percent approval rating, his lowest standing yet,” Stelter said. “But I’m more interested in this other poll showing Trump at 38 percent — a Fox News poll. But if you blinked, you missed it. They only showed this graphic once on air all week long. They spent a lot of money conducting this poll and CNN covered Fox’s poll four times as much as as Fox did. Bruce, your reaction?”

“I think sometimes we get the cause and effect relationship backwards,” Bartlett responded. “We think, oh, we see this Hillary non-story about uranium. We think the White House leaked it and encouraged Fox to run with it. I think it’s the other way around.”

“The people at Fox are thinking ‘what can we do to help Trump today? Well, let’s gin up the Hillary story again,” he continued. “You yourself have reported on many occasions that those three idiots on Fox & Friends seem to be –.”

“Hey, why the name call? Why the name calling?” Stelter interrupted.

“Well, because i think we have to call a spade a spade,” Bartlett shot back. “I think one of the problems in the media is that they’re afraid to say Trump is lying. They’re afraid to say that the people at Fox are just propaganda. I’m trying to use plain language to say what I think is the truth.”

CNN talks to some Faux News employees that are having a hard time with what they do for a living.

Quote

As special counsel Robert Mueller was dropping indictments against former Trump campaign officials on Monday, Fox News seemed more focused on controversies swirling around cheeseburger emojis.

Some Fox employees were not happy to see the network trying to brush this news under the rug, however, and they tell CNN’s Oliver Darcy that they were deeply humiliated by the way their network brushed off the biggest story of the day.

“It is another blow to journalists at Fox who come in every day wanting to cover the news in a fair and objective way,” one senior Fox employee told Darcy. “Fox feels like an extension of the Trump White House.”

“I’m watching now and screaming,” said a different Fox personality. “I want to quit.”

Some Fox employees said they were particularly disheartened by Fox segments that questioned Mueller’s credibility, which one person said “does the viewer a huge disservice and further divides the country.”

“That segment on ‘Outnumbered’ was absurd and deserves all the scorn it can get,” said another employee of the Fox News show’s segment that attacked Mueller’s reputation.

Still another employee fumed that Fox had morphed from a conservative news network to a public relations machine for Trump.

“It’s an embarrassment,” they told Darcy. “Frankly, there are shows on our network that are backing the President at all costs, and it’s that short term strategy that undermines the good work being done by others.”

Just more Faux News bein' Faux News. Here's what Jake Tapper said:

Quote

“The Arabic chant ‘Allahu Akbar, ‘God is great.’ Sometimes said under the most beautiful of circumstances and too often we hear of it being said in moments like this.”

Here was the Faux News headline:

Quote

“CNN’s Jake Tapper: ‘Allahu Akbar’ Can Be Said Under ‘Most Beautiful’ of Circumstances.”

Tapper unloaded:

Quote

Fox News is lying. I said it can be said at beautiful moments (wedding, birth) and too often at times like this (horrific terrorist attack).

“Allahu Akbar” is a prayer; if we don’t understand how radical Islamic terrorists justify their evil using religion, West cannot defeat it

@FoxNews chooses instead to deliberately lie about what I said. Following the slime-coated path of @DailyCaller and @infowars. Disgusting.

And yes, I know they do this all the time. Still, literally the day after this horrific attack that they would launch this smear — it’s sick

There was a time when one could tell the difference between Fox and the nutjobs at Infowars. It’s getting tougher and tougher. Lies are lies.

Here's where the lie started, with @NGivasDC at @DailyCaller who isn't familiar with how an adjective modifies a noun.

Jason Chaffetz (yes, THAT Jason Chaffetz) ran with the bogus headline on whatever bogus program he's on. He eventually ate his own words ... kinda'.

Good. Keep them ignorant. Hard to energize the base to go out and vote in the midterms if they don't realize how vulnerable they are.

As seen on http://dashboard.sec...democracy.org/:

Breibart.com reports

Alabama polls show Moore maintains a double digit lead over Jones before after WAPO Smear.

A quote from Politico:

(Breitbart News, which is backing Moore and has cast doubt on the molestation allegations against him, reported that an in-state consulting firm that has worked for Moore in the past found the Republican ahead by 10 points in a Saturday-evening survey, though that poll wasn't released publicly.)

https://www.politico...re-jones-244816

(Snarky sarcastic Breibart parody: Who would you believe ? Everyone else or us ?)

Reality says:

Embattled Alabama GOP Senate nominee Roy Moore is tied with Democrat Doug Jones in a new poll on Friday, one day after accusations surfaced that Moore had inappropriate sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl decades ago.

The GOP has now descended to the point where admitted pussy grabbing and pedophilia (at least with a girl and for both Moore and Trump who admitted ogling nude 15 year olds) are just no longer deal breakers. Even worse, "deal breaker" is way in the rearview. Now they don't even matter at all ... unless, of course, it's a Dem.

I wonder how they'd react to a live man in a long-term committed relationship and maybe even marriage. Probably a lot worse than the "dead girl" scenario.

Faux News and lead Trumpsucker Sean Hannity gave Trump interview questions in advance because administration officials were afraid he couldn't handle a real interview. No wonder he speaks in tweets. It's about what his attention span can handle.

Quote

In that new book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, Michael Wolff explains how he discovered that many in the administration view the president as mentally “incapable,” with frequent lapses in memory becoming a cause for concern.

Trump was initially scheduled for a 60 Minutes interview in September, but abruptly canceled after ex-top adviser Steve Bannon was interviewed by the same program. “The president’s advisers felt he shouldn’t put himself in a position where he would be compared to Bannon,” Wolff reports.

“The worry among staffers—all of them concerned that Trump’s rambling and his alarming repetitions (the same sentences delivered with the same expressions minutes apart) had significantly increased, and that his ability to stay focused, never great, had notably declined—was that he was likely to suffer by such a comparison,” the book continues. “Instead, the interview with Trump was offered to Sean Hannity—with a preview of the questions.”

Through a Fox News spokesperson, Hannity disputed that account, saying, “I never provided questions ahead of time to any candidate.” Fox later followed up to clarify that the statement meant President Trump as well.

The bamboozle has captured us. It's simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.”

— Carl Sagan

"Science is more than a body of knowledge; it is a way of thinking. I have a foreboding of an America in my children's or grandchildren's time - when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the key manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers arc in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what's true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness.

“As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

— H.L. Mencken

“The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little.”

— Franklin Delano Roosevelt
