Jake Tapper seems to be one of those journalists who has had enough and has decided to push back on Trumpian bullshit. Suck it, Spicy!

Quote

Earlier today, Press Secretary Sean Spicer took to Twitter to complain about how the New York Times apparently failed to get his birthplace right in an article about Donald Trump’s previous dalliances with tabloid magazines.

For the record, our current President informed his second wife that he wanted a divorce by telling a tabloid they were splitting up and then mailed her a copy of the headline.

Spicer, perhaps taking a leaf from his boss’s book, tweeted out today that the Times never asked him where he was born, which may or may not be true. More likely, given that the White House almost never responds to requests for comment, the Times asked and Spicer just never answered.

CNN’s Jake Tapper immediately saw the inherent hypocrisy in Spicer’s complaint and fired back with this savage response:

Jake Tapper: I imagine it must be really annoying when someone puts out false info about where you were born. Must really bother you!!

President Donald Trump was once the biggest proponent of the outrageously insulting and obviously racist conspiracy that President Obama was a secret Muslim from Kenya who wasn’t born in the United States.

Tapper is keeping up the journalism.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer cited a CNN poll in a tweet about the president’s Tuesday night speech, noting that it was positively received. This was after CNN was blocked from a briefing with Spicer just last week.

CNN’s Jake Tapper retweeted Spicer, writing “Just a small example of how dishonest the ‘fake news’ charge from the WH is.” He commented on Wednesday saying Spicer’s disdain for the media is not about CNN in particular, but “it’s about whether or not the coverage upsets him or upsets his boss in any way.”

The White House’s claims of “fake news” isn’t about whether or not the news is factual, Tapper said. “The issue is whether or not they like the coverage or not, and whether or not they like oversight at all.”

“We heard President Trump say one time any negative poll is fake — that was a tweet I think … Here’s a positive poll so it’s not fake, but I mean, this is really quite juvenile when you get down to what actually is being opposed,” he said.

More from Tapper who I'm sure is on Trump's naughty list by now. He basically trashes the latest Trump conspiracy theory that Obama had him wiretapped but he finishes with a quick summary of Trump's record on these kinds of wild accusations lies.

Quote

“Keep in mind one not-irrelevant detail here for anyone trying to make sense of it all,” Tapper continued. “We’ve been here before, and this is not a land with much sense, or respect for facts. This is a place of conspiracy theories untethered to facts.”

Tapper then listed off numerous other false theories propelled by Trump, from birthirism, to Muslim celebrations on 9/11, to Ted Cruz’s father having something to do with John F. Kennedy’s assassination.

“It goes on and on,” Tapper said, “None of it’s true. And the people around President Trump who are enabling this nonsense, the ones who know better, you have to ask yourselves this question: are you really serving the president? Are you really serving the American people?”

Just two days ago I mused that Tapper must be on Trump's naughty list. It turns out that he's at least on the Trumpians' naughty list. And how did they act? By spreading fake news, er, alternative facts, of course!

Supporters of Pres. Donald Trump and the coalition of white nationalists and internet trolls known as the “alt-right” are spreading a phony image claiming to show a tweet by CNN’s Jake Tapper calling for the assassination of Wikileaks co-founder Julian Assange.

Mediaite.com reported that the clumsily photoshopped image started circulating on Wednesday morning on alt-right and pro-Wilileaks threads.

“Needless to say,” wrote Alex Griswold, “he didn’t actually say anything of the sort (and the blurriness of parts of the image makes that obvious). But that didn’t stop the image from going viral.”

Tapper keeps swinging.

The lack of evidence and support for the bogus wiretap claim prompted Tapper on Wednesday to nail the president for his one-man conspiracy show.

“Welcome to Obama-tapped-my-phone Island,” Tapper said. “Population: President Trump.”

“The White House saying the president has no regrets about his fact-free claim that then-President Obama tapped his phone last year, even though just about everyone else in the city in the know, or with the power to investigate the claim says it’s not true or that they’ve seen nothing that can support the accusation,” Tapper continued.

The CNN host then shredded Trump’s attempts to cobble together “nonexistent evidence” that would prove the claim the president has already asserted as “fact” instead of an outright lie, as it currently appears to be.

Chris Cuomo took a swing at Spicey and obviously had some serious fun doing it.

Quote

Following Trump’s claim that he was illegally wiretapped by President Barack Obama, Spicer was asked at Wednesday’s press conference if law enforcement was actively investigating the president.

Spicer initially said that “we need to find out” if the president is under investigation. But after receiving a note from a White House staffer, he changed his story.

“There is no reason we have to think that the president is the target of any investigation whatsoever,” Spicer told reporters. “The tweet dealt with wiretaps during the campaign, the other is an investigation. They are two separate issues. And there is no reason to believe that there is any type of investigation with respect to the Department of Justice.”

Cuomo lampooned Spicer on Thursday with his own comic rendition of what the note may have looked like.

“You think this might explain why he seemed to go in seven directions?” Cuomo wondered.

Chris Cuomo at CNN is still hammering Trumpies!

Quote

During an interview with Trump supporter Anthony Scaramucci, Cuomo slammed Trump for continuing to stand by his false accusation that former President Barack Obama had order a wiretap of Trump Tower during the 2016 presidential election.

Scaramucci acknowledged that the president’s accusation might not be correct, but he then argued that everyone gets things wrong now and again.

Cuomo, however, wasn’t having it.

“If I ever got anything wrong anywhere close to what he gets wrong on a regular basis, I would be picking up garbage somewhere,” he shot back.

Jake Tapper continues hammering on Trump and calling it like it is.

Quote

In an interview with GQ, CNN’s Jake Tapper nailed Donald Trump’s chief White House adviser Steve Bannon, the former Breitbart head who helped drive the president to his electoral victory.

“Steve Bannon has made it clear,” Tapper told GQ’s Taffy Brodesser-Akner. “His goal is to blow everything up.”

That, according to Tapper, is the motivation behind the Trump administration’s relentless attacks on the press—“so there’s no confidence in anything except for President Trump.”

The CNN star argued if Trump “stopped the nonsense, he has the potential to be a very effective president.”

“The Republican officeholders in Washington are terrified of him,” Tapper explained. “He is, by nature, a deal-maker, and not particularly ideological. He could be a very effective president, but he keeps undermining himself with conspiracy theories and the attempt to undermine anyone who provides any sort of check or balance.”
