I just won the family bet. Before deliberations began the initial proposition was "Cosby- guilty or innocent", $5 buy in, 10 of us. I added hung jury as an option, and nobody else took it. I'm looking good to drag the pot. Nice. I get a mani/pedi, directly related to Cosby. Hey- at least I don't have to fight with an insurance umbrella policy to get paid. :)

Mistrial declared. No mention of jury break-down. Really not much new in the article.

The denial is strong in this one. Perhaps she should redirect her anger at her husband, where it belongs. She probably thought sticking with the rapist/philanderer all these years would none-the-less lead to a happy 'into the sunset' life, but in the end, she got cheated too.

Camille Cosby, the longtime wife of Bill Cosby, reacted in a lengthy statement about her husband's sexual assault case ending in a mistrial on Saturday morning.

After six days of deliberation, the Pennsylvania jury were unable to render a unanimous verdict on any of the three counts of felony aggravated indecent assault with which Cosby had been charged.

"How do I describe the district attorney? Heinously and exploitively ambitious," her statement began. "How do I describe the judge? Overtly and arrogantly collaborating with the district attorney. How do I describe the counsels for the accusers? Totally unethical."

Cosby continued in her statement: "How do I describe many, but not all, general media? Blatantly vicious entities that continually disseminated intentional omissions of truths for the primary purpose of greedily selling sensationalism at the expense of a human life."

The odds of getting AT LEAST 7 man chosen at random from a 50:50 population is more than 27% so don't get all that excited.

The wording here is a bit too tactful for me. The way so many high-profile American trials are reported over here, I would say that in many cases the jury vote on political, racial, or gender lines rather than on the merits of the case. Hence jury selection would be a key strategical issue for prosecution and defence counsel.

Note how carefully I've worded that, to give me several get-outs from dissenting points that I anticipate would be raised by many thoughtful Americans. And I also admit that one can believe news reports even less these days than one could, say, twenty years ago.

Umm, having a bunch of white people convict a black man of rape has, shall we say, a really bad look historically in the U.S.

Two of Bill Cosby's defenders are monsters too. This isn't just playing the race card, it's playing the whole f***ing deck.

Quote

Appearing with “Good Morning America” host George Stephanopoulos, the spokespersons for comedian Bill Cosby attacked the guilty verdict a jury in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania delivered against their client, with publicist Ebonee Benson comparing the result to the lynching of Emmett Till.

Speaking with the host, spokesperson Andrew Wyatt got right to the point, saying, “This became a public lynching.”

Sitting with Benson in a Norristown studio, the two attacked the three guilty verdicts handed down over accusations of sexual assault.

“You’re saying all these women, all 60 of these women are lying?” Stephanopolous asked.

“May I ask a question?” Benson shot back. “Since when are all people honest? Since when are all women honest? We can take a look at Emmett Till, for example. Not all people are honest.”

Wyatt then jumped into attack attorney Gloria Allred, saying she was selective in which Cosby victims she represented while adding a further racial component despite the fact that not all of Cosby’s accusers are white.

“What Gloria Allred was able to do, what she did, was take a salt and pepper shaker — she shaked [sic] out a lot of salt and sprinkled in a little black pepper,” Wyatt charged. “And the south came east. And that’s what we saw.”

Emmett Till, a black 14-year-old, was lynched in Mississippi in August 1955, after a white woman accused him of grabbing her by the waist and making crude comments in a grocery store. Years later his accuser recanted her charges.

Cosby is sentenced to 3-10 years. Rot in a cell, scumbag.

Quote

His Hollywood career and good-guy image in ruins, an 81-year-old Bill Cosby was sentenced Tuesday to three to 10 years behind bars for drugging and sexually assaulting a woman, becoming the first celebrity of the #MeToo era to be sent to prison.

The punishment all but completed the dizzying, late-in-life fall for the comedian, former TV star and breaker of racial barriers.

“It is time for justice. Mr. Cosby, this has all circled back to you. The time has come,” Montgomery County Judge Steven O’Neill said. He quoted from victim Andrea Constand’s own statement to the court, in which she said Cosby took her “beautiful, young spirit and crushed it.”

Cosby declined the opportunity to address the court before the sentence came down.

The punishment came at the end of a two-day hearing at which the judge declared Cosby a “sexually violent predator” — a modern-day scarlet letter that subjects him to monthly counseling for the rest of his life and requires that neighbors and schools be notified of his whereabouts.

Go directly to jail, motherf***er!

Judge Steven O’Neill gave Cosby, 81, a sentence of between three and 10 years in prison for attacking Andrea Constand in 2004. Constand is one of more than 60 women who have accused the previously beloved comedian of preying on them over the past five decades.

“It is time for justice. Mr. Cosby, this has all circled back to you. The time has come,” O’Neill said.

Cosby was denied bail and remanded to state custody for transfer to prison. Cosby took his suit jacket off and rolled up the sleeves of his white dress shirt. Minutes later, he was escorted out of the courtroom in handcuffs, with sheriff’s deputies on either side.

Bill Cosby is a monster. His lawyer is a shameless piece of shit. In almost no time he managed to trivialize racism, trivialize sexism, use the Kavanaugh accusers for his client's benefit, claim fake evidence, and compare Cosby to Jesus. This for a man with 60 (F***ING 60!!!) accusation of sexual assault. They are quite the pair.

Quote

Shortly after Bill Cosby was sentenced to three to 10 years in state prison for sexual assault and taken away in handcuffs, his spokesperson Andrew Wyatt told reporters that Cosby — along with embattled Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh — was the victim of a “sex war.”

“What is going on in Washington today with Judge Kavanaugh is part of that sex war that Judge [Steven] O’Neill and his wife are a part of,” Wyatt said, referring to the judge who oversaw Cosby’s trial.

Wyatt also called Cosby’s trial that resulted in a conviction “the most racist and sexist trial in the history of the United States,” saying that Cosby was “one of the greatest civil rights leaders” and a “great educator of men and boys.” He also criticized the psychologists who testified against Cosby, and claimed that audio footage of Cosby played in the courtroom was falsified.

In a particularly bizarre moment, Wyatt referenced the persecution of Jesus while talking about Cosby. “They persecuted Jesus and look what happened,” he said, according to CNN. “Not saying Mr. Cosby’s Jesus, but we know what this country has done to black men for centuries.”

And now comes the kitchen sink defense. Attacking the judge is front and center. This is what you can do when you have money.

Quote

It’s only been two weeks, and already Bill Cosby wants to get out of jail.

Lawyers for the sexual predator once revered as ‘America’s dad’, who was sentenced to a three-to-ten-year stretch, have filed a motion seeking to have the April retrial thrown out.

Cosby's lawyers cite a series of supposed errors on the part of Judge O’Neil in both the initial mistrial of 2017, the retrial this spring and the sentencing hearing late last month, according to a report on deadline.com.

Cosby’s attorneys claim that a vital piece of taped evidence was “not authentic,” that the statute of limitations on the crime may have expired and that testimony from five other accusers at the retrial, “violated the defendant’s right at sentencing.”

The paperwork also attacks the judge, saying he should have recused himself. “A reasonable observer could question the impartiality of the judge who imposed the September 25, 2018, sentence,” the filing alleges.

Cosby admitted in depositions to giving his victim, Andrea Constand, Benadryl pills on the night of the assault in his Philadelphia mansion in 2004, but unsuccessfully claimed in court that the encounter with her was consensual. More than 60 women have come forward with strikingly similar accounts of being drugged and molested by Cosby.

The defense motion filed Friday, according to Deadline, appeals “for a new trial in the interest of justice, or at least for reconsideration and modification of the sentence imposed on September 25, 2018.”

REJECTED! Stay directly in jail. Do not collect a reduced sentence.

Quote

A Montgomery County judge denied Bill Cosby’s request for a new trial and reduced sentence Tuesday, according to a tweet from Digital First Media reporter Carl Hessler Jr. “Following an exhaustive review of the record, the Court has determined that no hearing or argument is required on the issues raised,” the court document read. As The Daily Beast previously reported, Cosby was sentenced in late September to 3 to 10 years in prison for sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004.

Cosby, who was well known for telling young blacks to stop complaining about racial issues and take responsibility for their lives, plays the race card. As if he hadn't already fallen far enough he just keeps digging the pit deeper.

Quote

Disgraced comedian Bill Cosby announced Wednesday that he’s filed a bail application in his sexual-assault case—and in the same statement, he accused the judge overseeing it of acting out of “racial hatred” to prevent him from filing an appeal. The statement, which Cosby posted to Instagram, accuses Judge Steven T. O’Neill of “purposely denying” the former actor the right to appeal by delaying an opinion filing, and asks that “this scandalous judge be removed immediately.” In 2018, O’Neill sentenced Cosby to 3 to 10 years in prison for sexually assaulting Andrea Constand. “The judge’s racial hatred towards Mr. Cosby, clouds his better judgement to be a good steward of the bench,” the statement claims.

“I don’t know what Constitutional rock this judge resides, because his refusal to write an opinion, reveals that he’s complicit in the corruption against me, and that he’s an accessory to the incestuous behavior that resides in Montgomery County,” Cosby is quoted as saying in the statement. “His dishonorable conduct makes me smile, because this judge is being exposed, and it shows that this is bigger than me [...] O’Neill now has his formula: tried, true and tested to destroy Any Black Man and/or Colored Man In America.”

May you rot in prison for the few miserable years you have left you sanctimonious piece of shit.
