This is a frightening glimpse (hardly a comprehensive look) into how much the ranks of police departments have been infiltrated by white supremacists, domestic terrorists, and treasonous individuals. Look at the list and realize that this is what they found for one event and is likely not comprehensive even it. The list contains 26 separate people who work in various departments around the nation. Here are 8 from the Philly area.

Seven SEPTA Transit Officials In Pennsylvania
The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is investigating seven of its officers who allegedly attended Trump’s “Stop the Steal” rally, which preceded the assault on the Capitol. The agency has not reported evidence that they were part of the violent mob, however.

A Philly Detective
Jennifer Gugger, a detective for the Philadelphia Police Department, is the subject of an internal investigation after she allegedly posted photos of herself at the “Stop the Steal” rally. Like with the SEPTA officers, it is not yet known whether she forced her way into the Capitol.

Gugger’s Facebook profile contained content in support of the bonkers pro-Trump QAnon conspiracy theory, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. She has been reassigned from her former position as a recruiter for the department, which involved screening applicants’ social media activity.

If you've got public schools paid for by taxpayers, you're in a socialist nation. If you have public roads paid for by taxpayers, socialist nation. If you've got public defense (police, fire, military, coast guard) paid for by tax dollars, socialist nation. If you're in a nation that has nationalized or localized delivery of services that are not paid for by users alone, you're in a socialist nation- the only question is how socialist. As I see it, we pay the military pay to protect the shipping lanes for our fuel needs which makes us very socialist. In a capitalist nation, the people supplying the oil would pay for their own defense force.

The flag bearer from the South has been captured. (Actually it looks like he's from Delaware.)

Quote

A man photographed with a Confederate battle flag inside the Capitol building last week amid the deadly insurrection was arrested Thursday in Delaware, according to the New York Times.

The Times identified Kevin Seefried as the man who carried the Confederate flag into the Capitol, after the FBI sought assistance from the public to identify him as part of the agency’s search for individuals “who made unlawful entry” into the Capitol.

The Capitol Hill Police have a long-standing problem with white supremacy. Not that any of these racist rangers saw it as a problem.

Quote

When Kim Dine took over as the new chief of the U.S. Capitol Police in 2012, he knew he had a serious problem.

Since 2001, hundreds of Black officers had sued the department for racial discrimination. They alleged that white officers called Black colleagues slurs like the N-word and that one officer found a hangman’s noose on his locker. White officers were called “huk lovers” or “FOGs” — short for “friends of gangsters” — if they were friendly with their Black colleagues. Black officers faced “unprovoked traffic stops” from fellow Capitol Police officers. One Black officer claimed he heard a colleague say, “Obama monkey, go back to Africa.”

In case after case, agency lawyers denied wrongdoing. But in an interview, Dine said it was clear he had to address the department’s charged racial climate. He said he promoted a Black officer to assistant chief, a first for the agency, and tried to increase diversity by changing the force’s hiring practices. He also said he hired a Black woman to lead a diversity office and created a new disciplinary body within the department, promoting a Black woman to lead it.

“There is a problem with racism in this country, in pretty much every establishment that exists,” said Dine, who left the agency in 2016. “You can always do more in retrospect.”

Whether the Capitol Police managed to root out racist officers will be one of many issues raised as Congress investigates the agency’s failure to prevent a mob of Trump supporters from attacking the Capitol while lawmakers inside voted to formalize the electoral victory of President-elect Joe Biden.

You know, I'm just going to buy a Schadenfreude Meter factory and personally consume it's entire output. I posted a Dreher piece over in thread about the radicalization of TAC but this item was just too good not to share here. Dreher is appalled that there are women exposing insurrectionist males who were at the Capitol, a.k.a. criminals, through dating apps. He can't believe these women would do this because I guess passing tips and evidence of right-wing criminal activity onto the FBI is wrong. Me? There goes another Schadenfreude Meter. Maybe two.

Look at what a reader just sent me:

Really, Rod? You called this out as an insurrection earlier but now it's "a game" and "politics?" He doesn't seem to be able to balance his viewpoints anymore. I think he's lost track of what he's said and supposedly stands for.

The right needs to stop falsely claiming that the Nazis were socialists

Quote

Did you know that “Nazi” is short for “National Socialist”? That means that Hitler and his henchmen were all socialists. Bernie Sanders calls himself a socialist, too. That means Bernie Sanders and his supporters are the same as Nazis … doesn’t it?

Anyone who has been on political Twitter in the past decade has seen a version of this syllogism. Conservatives, seeking to escape the “fascist” and “Nazi” labels tossed at them by leftist critics since the 1960s, have turned the tables. Books such as Jonah Goldberg’s “Liberal Fascism” have noted that many leading fascists, such as Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, started out as socialists, just as many early 20th-century “progressives” embraced eugenic ideas ultimately linked to Nazi racist genocide. This connection has become a silver bullet for voices on the right like Dinesh D’Souza and Candace Owens: Not only is the reviled left, embodied in 2020 by figures like Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Elizabeth Warren, a dangerous descendant of the Nazis, but anyone who opposes it can’t possibly have ties to the Nazis’ odious ideas.

There is only one problem: This argument is untrue. Although the Nazis did pursue a level of government intervention in the economy that would shock doctrinaire free marketeers, their “socialism” was at best a secondary element in their appeal. Indeed, most supporters of Nazism embraced the party precisely because they saw it as an enemy of and an alternative to the political left. A closer look at the connection between Nazism and socialism can help us better understand both ideologies in their historical contexts and their significance for contemporary politics.

The Nazi regime had little to do with socialism, despite it being prominently included in the name of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party. The NSDAP, from Hitler on down, struggled with the political implications of having socialism in the party name. Some early Nazi leaders, such as Gregor and Otto Strasser, appealed to working-class resentments, hoping to wean German workers away from their attachment to existing socialist and communist parties. The NSDAP’s 1920 party program, the 25 points, included passages denouncing banks, department stores and “interest slavery,” which suggested a quasi-Marxist rejection of free markets. But these were also typical criticisms in the anti-Semitic playbook, which provided a clue that the party’s overriding ideological goal wasn’t a fundamental challenge to private property.

“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we've been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It's simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.”

"Science is more than a body of knowledge; it is a way of thinking. I have a foreboding of an America in my children's or grandchildren's time - when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the key manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers arc in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what's true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness.

Wow, just how blind, or stupid, do you have to be not to recognize that Trump's entire post-election legal course of action---literally laser focused on heavily populated urban black counties---wasn't racially motivated? It boggles the mind.

For a look into the psyche of the QAnon Shaman see the brief in support of detention of this guy in Arizona (so he isn't free to go to DC again). Bottom of pg. 10-11 is fascinating:

Quote

Chansley also stated he has no mental health conditions, but publicly-available information and videos reveal a very different picture. Chansley has spoken openly about his belief that he is an alien, a higher being, and he is here on Earth to ascend to another reality.3 He subscribes to QAnon, a group who believes a debunked and fictitious conspiracy claim that Satan-worshipping cannibalistic pedophiles are running a global child sex-trafficking ring and plotting against President Donald Trump.4 As an example, in a YouTube video uploaded on January 6, 2021, from approximately minute 9:00 forward, Chansley states:

So in order to beat this evil occultic force you need a light occultic force that is of the side of God of love on like almost like on the side of the Angels OK as opposed to the demons all right and so as a shaman I am like a multi-dimensional or hyper-dimensional being okay I am able to perceive multiple different frequencies of light beyond my five senses and it allows me to see into these other higher dimensions that these entities these pedophiles these rapists these murderers these really high up people that they almost like hide in the shadows in nobody can see that because the third eye ain't open okay and that's where things like fluoride and stuff like 2 that comes in so the horns the horns are hey man you mess with the Buffalo you get the horns bro and if you ever tried messing with the Buffalo that doesn't work out too well for many people this right here this is coyote skin 4 according to the Navajo the coyote is like the trickster almost like almost like a benevolent force so I'm wearing the skin of the trickster I got two tails here okay so the trickster messed with the bull got the horns okay and the face paint is representative of the Native American tradition of like donning on warpaint of some sort only this is only this is a war that is of like a spiritual nature okay so because it's a war of a spiritual nature you need symbolism okay in the symbolism here for me is you got the blood on the sign the bullet holes Q sent me this shows the the the secret war in the behind the scene.
