Never a dull moment at Walmart. You have to read the whole thing for the full effect.

If you've got public schools paid for by taxpayers, you're in a socialist nation. If you have public roads paid for by taxpayers, socialist nation. If you've got public defense (police, fire, military, coast guard) paid for by tax dollars, socialist nation. If you're in a nation that has nationalized or localized delivery of services that are not paid for by users alone, you're in a socialist nation- the only question is how socialist. As I see it, we have the military pay to protecting the shipping lanes for our fuel needs which makes up very socialist. In a capitalist nation, the people supplying the oil would pay for their own defense force.

Oh, Florida!

Quote

Authorities said three naked women who were seen applying suntan lotion at a Florida rest stop led police on a 21-mile chase, drove a car at one deputy and threatened another with a bat.

The Florida highway patrol said that when a deputy approached the women at the Interstate 75 rest stop on Wednesday in Dade City, Pasco county, they started dressing. The women told the trooper they had been staying at a relative’s home but went to the rest stop after an altercation and had nowhere else to go.

The Tampa Bay Times reported that the women claimed they were “air drying” after washing up. They then fled in a car, with troopers giving chase.

The women were caught after police managed to blow out their tires and repeatedly rammed their car. One was subdued using a stun gun and marijuana was found in the car. The women were charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, fleeing to elude and indecent exposure.

In the words of the Tampa Bay Times, “though Pasco has been dubbed the nudist capital of the world, the arrest reports do not indicate the women are linked to its many nudist or clothing-optional communities”.

Fear Sells!

Pasco County is also known for its pill mills and opioid addiction problems. Further, it is really, REALLY redneck outside of the Tampa bedroom communities close to the Hillsborough County line.

Maybe if they had used it more liberally they would have been a lot more chill and not acted like idiots. Then again maybe not. Genetics and upbringing are power forces.

An elderly relative of my wife's lived in Farmville, VA. There were multiple people n business to rip off older people, specifically that one. It was disgusting. People from those areas love their religion and love to talk about how much better it is there than the immoral cities but that's not the impression I got. An enormous amount of shit was going down. People just didn't talk out loud about it. (Gossip, OTOH, was a whoooole other matter.)

And there are plenty of old people in Flori-DUH. There’s a reason South FL has been referred to as “The Scam Capital of the U.S.”

Aside #1: Port Richey has really gone downhill since the early ‘aughts. A year or 2 ago we took US 19 through there and were dismayed at how trashy it was.
Aside #2: That Jerk and Wife #3 happen to live in that (not so) fair burg of Port Richey.

There's a headline on that site that would have made J-CA's avatar jealous.
