Wow. A piece at Clown Hall that isn't batshit nuts and seems to adhere to facts. What is this world coming to?

The screeching hyperbole from Faux & Friends over a freshman Congresswoman is just fascinating to watch.

Quote

AOC is coming for your children.

And your future children while she’s at it, too.

That was the message from the relentless Fox News coverage of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, which continued Tuesday with the claim that the New York Democrat’s Green New Deal proposal is really an attempt to commit “civilizational suicide.”

This morning, the hosts of Fox & Friends focused on the $93 trillion estimate that a right-leaning think tank said would be the cost of the non-binding climate-change proposal, which offers vague but drastic ways to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions that a global scientific consensus has warned are threatening life as humans know it.

That price tag: Priceless for the Friends.

“Considering our economy is $20 trillion [per year], what they’re attempting to do would bankrupt it,” co-host Pete Hegseth said, referring to a new study by the American Action Forum that put the per-household cost at about $600,000 over 10 years.

“It’s going to be extremely expensive,” said co-host Ainsley Earhardt, referencing a since-retracted policy document issued at its launch. “But some of these Democrats have said that is the cost you have to pay to keep our country safe.”

The nonprofit AAF is close to explicit Republican Party political organizations, chiefly the Congressional Leadership Fund, the top GOP super PAC—to which casino mogul Sheldon Adelson donated tens of millions of dollars in the last election cycle.

Hegseth then zeroed in on Ocasio-Cortez herself, accusing her of advocating for “civilizational suicide” in a Instagram live video in which he claimed the congresswoman said Americans “shouldn’t have kids” because they are too expensive.

“And if you listen to watch what she has to say, she's saying don't have kids because it’s going to hurt our country,” Hegseth said. “So if you don't believe in kids, and families, and the flag, you're effectively admitting to civilizational suicide.”

In her Sunday Instagram stream, Ocasio answered a question from a viewer who asked whether it was “still OK” to have children in the midst of “disastrous” climate change.

“Our planet is going to hit disaster if we don’t turn this ship around and so it’s basically like, there’s a scientific consensus that the lives of children are going to be very difficult,” Ocasio-Cortez said while chopping vegetables in her kitchen. “And it does lead, I think, young people to have a legitimate question, you know, ‘Is it OK to still have children?’”

Hegseth informed viewers of President Trump’s favorite morning TV show that the kitchen confessional was actually a call to end human procreation.

“No really, she is saying don’t have kids, because it’s World War II and we're not going to be around in 10 years,” he said. “When you stop believing in your own country, and your own values, and free-market economics, you give up what made you special in the first place. She is the clear view of what the left believes today.”

At the end of a segment, Fox & Friends aired a clip of Rush Limbaugh questioning AOC’s age and her ability to make policy decisions—a blow the hosts jumped on.

“She doesn’t know what she is talking about,” co-host Brian Kilmeade chimed in, adding that presidential hopefuls “Mike Bloomberg and Howard Schultz did.”
